We are excited about the new rule change, but when will it go into effect? September 29, 2020. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) published the final rule to the Federal Register on June 1st. The FMCSA did not list a date that the rules would be effective, but 120 days after the rules are published, they will become effective. Petitions for Reconsideration of the final rule must be submitted to FMCSA within 30 days of the rule’s publication on June 1st.
